Perfesser Barry Soetoro

My friend Eowyn over at Fellowship of the Minds dropped this little gem of a post on her blog today, and I thought I would share it with you:
This is MAJOR news.

One of the accomplishments much trumpeted by Obamabots is that their man, the Punk, after he graduated from Harvard Law School was a “professor” at Chicago University Law School. Finally, a leading faculty member at Chicago Law has come forth with the truth on Obama’s teaching, including:

  • How Obama got a job teaching law: It was a political favor. The law school actually had turned down his application to teach there.
  • What his academic title was: Obama was a “lecturer,” never a “professor,” not even an “adjunct” professor. The distinctions between/among these academic titles are important. A lecturer is someone who is hired on a year-by-year basis, without going through rigorous screening or possessing sterling academic credentials.
  • How other faculty members regarded him: They thought him lazy and unqualified.
  • What he taught at the law school: Although he was hired to teach Constitutional Law, Obama instead taught Machiavellian power politics à la Saul Alinsky, the Marxist ideologue who dedicated his book on community organizing, Rules for Radicals, to the fallen evil angel Lucifer.

I hope this revelation of Obama’s Chicago Law School “teaching” will be the first of more truth-tellings by those who had known the Punk.

You will find the rest at this link.

I think we are beginning to get a much clearer picture of who, not to mention what, Barack Hussein Obama actually is.

We are also gaining a much better understanding of why this supposedly highly-educated, "eloquent" man requires the aid of a teleprompter to string even two coherent sentences together.

We are also beginning to see why he has shelled out nearly $2 million to keep large parts of his past hidden from public scrutiny.

Of course, this was all out there in plain sight for people to see way back when this mysterious protege of the America-hating George Soros first announced his candidacy for POTUS. It's just too bad that 65 million of our fellow Americans couldn't turn off American Idol and put down their stupid People Magazines long enough to take notice.

Elections, after all, have consequences, and the one that took place in November of 2008 may have reverberations that last well beyond our lifetimes.

Speaking purely for myself, I now see the elevation of Barack Hussein Obama to the presidency as surpassing Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, gun control, and government "education" as the most colossal scam ever perpetrated on the American people.

I really want to believe that America has not become too stoopid to survive as it was founded, but I am truly beginning to wonder whether or not it has.

God help us.

UAH Killer Professor Is Lefty Kook

Via BostonHerald.com:
“She was an oddball - just not very sociable,” said Sylvia Fluckiger, a former lab technician who worked with Bishop in 1993.

Bishop acknowledged at the time being questioned in the bombing attempt of a Harvard medical doctor evaluating her on doctorate work, a professor with whom Bishop was known to quarrel, Fluckiger said.

Reyes confirmed he is working with the FBI to learn more about why Bishop was a suspect in the attempted bombing of Dr. Paul Rosenberg, who received a double-pipe bomb in the mail on Dec. 19, 1993. He ran from his Newton home with his wife, escaping without injury. The bomb never exploded.

You can read the entire article here, and also about what some of the witnesses are saying here.

Ted Kaczynski, Bill Ayers, Amy Bishop...

You know, I think Janet "Reno II" Napolitano might want to consider shifting her focus away from armed conservatives and start keeping tabs on communist college professors, as they seem to be a far larger threat to innocent people.

Just a thought.

The Coup Rolls On

I realize most real Americans are rejoicing over Scott Brown's Senate win in Massachusetts yesterday, and well we should, as I think it sent a message to Washington that even the dullest pol cannot ignore - not even a dullard such as Maxine Waters.

However, Barack Hussein Obama still has 59 votes in the Senate, a House that is still in the tank by a wide margin, and has at least another ten months before encountering any meaningful speed bumps, or more preferably an arresting hook, that could either slow or possibly stop cold the takeover of America by the radical far-left that is currently underway.

While many aren't looking, Obama is moving to seize the school loan program through his pending 2010 budget bill.

Via CNSNews.com:
A bill currently before the Senate would empower the Obama administration to nationalize the student lending industry, eliminating the federally subsidized private loans millions of university students rely on to finance their educations.

The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act – currently being considered by the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee – would eliminate the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) program. FFEL loans are federally subsidized and make up approximately 80 percent of the student lending industry.
You can read the whole thing here.

We are now exactly 365 days into this hideous and rapidly advancing takeover by the radical far-left. To this point, the federal government has grabbed two of our three automakers, 90% of the mortgage industry, is currently gearing up to go after our banks, and now is seeking to snatch up all school loans.

How long will it be before loans for higher education begin being divvied out based on the "political reliability" of the hopeful recipient?

Not very, I would say.

Perhaps after the results in yesterday's special Senate election in Massachusetts, the republicans might now grow a spine and resist this insanity.

I'm not holding my breath, but it could happen.

Yet Another Attack On Free Speech By "Tolerant" Liberal College Administrators

One of my major pet peeves is the advent of so-called "speech codes" that have sprung up all across America on the campus' of our nation's so-called institutions of "higher learning." As I have previously noted here at the Notepad, I myself was victimized by this hideous assault on freedom of speech when I was attending college nearly twenty years ago. Of course, I made no bones about my plan to deal with it directly, and the administrator who first thought I was going to cower into a corner and whimper like a baby, was caught completely off guard by my firm, yet polite response.

In the years since, this lunacy has grown far worse, to the point where many of our nation's college and university students have found themselves dragged before some form of disciplinary panel or other to receive punishment for their alleged transgression, or worse yet, expelled from the institution they were attending, simply due to the fact that something they said or penned merely offended someone.

Thankfully, several organizations have sprung up over the years to deal with the rise in speech fascism carried out by the spineless, and most often, liberal hypocrites who claim to support the idea of free expression-sure they do, right up until that expression rubs up against their decidedly left-of-center views, then the witch hunt begins in earnest.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (F.I.R.E) is one of the organizations that stands up for the 1st Amendment rights of college and university students all across America. A recent California case that required their involvement caught my attention.

Tim Wilde was once a student at UCLA's Graduate School of Education, but was drummed out of the program for reasons he felt were due to his ideological views. As such, Mr. Wilde set up a web site that was critical of the University. This did not sit well with the powers-that-be at UCLA, who sent a letter to Mr. Wilde, demanding that he take down the site, using the rather flimsy assertion that his site constituted "trademark infringement and dilution" due to its use of "ucla" in the domain name, and went on to infer that Mr. Wilde might be committing a "criminal offense" under California law.

F.I.R.E. promptly sent a letter to the gowned gaggle at UCLA, pretty much calling BS on their assertions, and then went public with the story. Within hours of that, the school backed down.

You can read the whole story here.

Glad to see that, once again, a student, albeit a former one, was able to assert their freedom of speech/expression as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.

I just think it sad that organizations such as F.I.R.E are even necessary in a supposedly free country.

Eastern Michigan University to Student: Resistance Is Futile-You Will Be Assimilated-or Else

As I have posted previously, I have long considered political correctness (PC) to be not just speech control, but an indirect attempt at thought control. After all, when you start trying to control what people can and cannot say, how far are you from ultimately controlling what people think?

The one place you would think the free exchange of ideas would be welcome is on the campuses of our nations colleges and universities, yet in reality these institutions are among the worst offenders of all when it comes to imposing what I now refer to as intellectual fascism on their students and faculty.

Apparently the tasseled, gowned gaggle at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) has decided to take intellectual fascism to the next level by insisting its students realign their core belief systems to bring them in line with what the powers-that-be at that university think those values should be.

Last month, Julea Ward, a Christian, was ultimately dismissed from EMU's graduate counseling program for refusing to affirm the homosexual lifestyle of one of her clients. This was after her having been put through the ringer by her supervising professor and others in a "disciplinary" proceeding.

The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) has taken up her case and filed suit against EMU in federal court:
EMU initiated its disciplinary process against Ward and informed her that the only way she could stay in the graduate school counseling program would be if she agreed to undergo a "remediation" program. Its purpose would be to help Ward "see the error of her ways" and change her "belief system" as it relates to counseling about homosexual relationships, conforming her beliefs to be consistent with the university’s views.
You can read the full complaint here.

I expect Ms. Ward will prevail in this case, and that is as it should be. Thankfully, the courts have not been very accommodating when it comes to wanton (and dare I say near epidemic) trampling upon the constitutional rights of students by those who run our nations colleges and universities.

No one should be forced to change their core values or beliefs, religious or otherwise, in order to participate in a university program, particularly in an institution that is supported to any degree by taxpayer dollars.

Somehow, I have a feeling that if Ms. Ward were a Muslim, EMU would have handled this incident very differently, and would have fallen all over itself in an effort to accommodate her belief system. Never mind that Muslims the world over routinely murder homosexuals in cold blood.

As I see it, political correctness, in any form, has no place in a truly free society. When even one American's constitutional rights are successfully trampled upon by anyone, we all lose.

Our Nation's Colleges & Universities: Bastions of Speech & Thought Fascism

If there is one area where the freedom-hating illiberal left has enjoyed immense success in setting this nation on its current path to becoming a Marxist hell-hole, it is in their outright take-over of our nation's institutions of higher learning, a process which began over four decades ago. Conversely, one of the most colossal failures on the part of those of us who cherish the hard-won and unique freedoms and liberties we currently enjoy as a nation, was to stand idly by and allow this take-over to occur in the first place.

Sadly, almost commensurate with the left's subversion of our nations colleges, along came "political correctness." Anyone on campus who uttered any thought or idea that violated this, at the time, largely unwritten code, faced repercussions-some of which could be rather serious.

This came as a rude awakening for many American students who had assumed that liberals actually supported the concept of freedom of expression. After all, was it not supposedly "tolerant" liberals who were marching on campuses all across America in the 60s and 70s, loudly demanding that their free speech rights be observed?

I myself ran afoul of un-published PC speech restrictions while in college nearly two decades ago. Of course, unlike some of the students in my midst, I promptly and rather aggressively stood up for myself and asserted my rights as an American, and thus was able to put a swift end to the proceedings.

Today, many of our nation's universities are actually publishing lists of words and phrases that the powers-that-be have determined are out of bounds and can therefore not be used anywhere on campus. Often, the excuse given by the robed and tasseled gaggle who produce these codes insist that they are necessary to ensure that all of the student body feel "included" and are able to go about their daily activities and avoid being offended in some way or other. How nice.

Are these people not concerned that in just about all cases, the imposition of speech codes in a public university setting has been ruled to be a clear violation of the constitutional rights of the students and is therefore illegal? Apparently not.

Where, by the way, does the Constitution of the United States of America say that we citizens have a "right" to not be offended?

Another excuse one will often hear put forth by the robed mob is that speech codes are necessary in order to prevent "hate speech." Problem is, who, exactly, gets to define what constitutes hate speech? In my experience, this term has come to define anything said by a non-liberal that a liberal does not agree with, much like the term "racist" has come to define anything said by a white person that a person of color disagrees with.

One long-held concern I have had about speech codes, aside from the fact that they are a blatant affront to our God-given, constitutionally enforced right to express ourselves as we see fit is, when you start trying to control what people say, how far are you from ultimately controlling what people think?

It would be easy to blame the government, the elementary and secondary government schools these kids attended, the colleges and universities themselves, in addition to the freedom-hating left. After all, each of these entities share at least part of the blame for the sorry state our post-secondary educational system now finds itself in-particularly in the area of freedom of expression, if not freedom in general.

I lay the bulk of the blame squarely at the feet of the parents who send their offspring to these deeply flawed institutions. I do so not because they have failed to withhold the huge tuition payments they make to these schools, or that they do not send mass letters of protest to the administrators and faculty members for their shameless indoctrination of our nations young people.

I blame them for raising gullible, non-thinking, non-critical, easily-led little sheep.

Somewhere in these student's households, in the time between their gleaming parents bringing their little bundles of joy home from the hospital for the first time, and the day they packed up the SUV and drove their now teenage offspring off to the college or university of their choice, something went hideously awry.

I suspect that in most cases, the parents perched in the front of the SUV now making its way merrily along probably are congratulating themselves in the belief that they did a fairly good job in preparing their progeny for life in the real world. In many cases, the parent's are probably correct. In most cases, however, I think they have blown it-and quite badly at that.

The problem we have today is that so many young people have been so wussified by their parent's, as well as by society at large, that they most often will cower in the face of any restrictions placed on their freedoms, and just quietly go about their business. This, I believe, is the main reason the enemies of freedom have been so successful at stifling speech with which they disagree-speech that often reflects ideas and convictions that the institutional intelligentsia, for whatever reason, cannot stomach. How sad.

Fortunately for freedom of expression, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, or F.I.R.E., was formed to help fight the speech Nazis that have infested so many of this nation's colleges and universities. You can read their mission statement here.

As I have been victimized by the campus speech fascists myself, I took a personal interest in this organization shortly after it was founded, and have regularly followed its progress ever since. They have a rather impressive record in combating speech restrictions that have been cropping up on campuses all over this nation.

Each year, F.I.R.E. releases a report detailing the current state of freedom of expression on many of our nations colleges and universities. You can read their 2009 report, which was just released, here.

Sad to say, even though there has been some limited progress made in the war for intellectual freedom in the very places you would not expect there to be a need for one, our nations institutions of higher learning, there is still much left to be done to rid this country of this freedom-sapping cancer.

What I find truly distressing is that, in the United States of America, an organization such as F.I.R.E. is even necessary.
