Should the dems win big, I can see all sorts of unpleasantness coming our way, and very few, if any, bright spots-at least not for those of us who cherish what is left of freedom in this country.
The Wall Street Journal has peeled back the curtain a little and provided us with a brief glimpse of what me may in store for should the left wind up with a "supermajority" in January.
In both 1933 and 1965, liberal majorities imposed vast expansions of government that have never been repealed, and the current financial panic may give today's left another pretext to return to those heydays of welfare-state liberalism. Americans voting for "change" should know they may get far more than they ever imagined.
Shudder.
I would like to be able to say that the republicans would be a good counter to the plans the far-left has in store for us, but given the spending orgy they engaged in during the first six years of this young century, I find myself unable to.
Hang on, folks, we could be in for a very bad time.
